As the foremost of China’s Four Great Buddhist Mountains, Wutai Mountain is home to numerous temples with a long history and flourishing incense. Among them, Wuye Temple (Wanfo Pavilion) boasts the most vigorous incense. Famous for enshrining the Fifth Dragon King (an incarnation of Manjushri Bodhisattva), it is legendarily known for answering all sincere prayers—particularly efficacious in wishes for wealth, career, and health. Visitors stream in every day, with some even waiting in line for hours to enter the main hall.
Meanwhile, Shuxiang Temple is the largest Manjushri Bodhisattva Dharma Realm on Wutai Mountain. Its main hall houses a 9.87-meter-tall statue of Manjushri riding a lion, symbolizing wisdom and academic success, making it the top choice for parents praying for their children.
